Discovery & Programming

I like to start all my projects by spending some quality time with my clients, understanding their design aesthetic, requirements, goals and desired scope of work. We start off with programming to understand the exact direction and style of the project. We discuss the budget, schedule & timeline. We start with conceptual planning and schematics by methods such as site documentation and survey’s. We use tools such as imagery from magazines, creating a Pinterest or Houzz page and site visits to various spaces or showrooms for inspiration.

Interior Architecture

The next phase is to collaborate with the architects & builder’s as required to begin the design development. Pre-construction planning, further budget estimating and starting the process of laying out the space in a floor plan. We begin to look at the lighting design, ceiling design, millwork, cabinet details, fireplace design, reflected ceiling plan, staircases, etc and work collaboratively to ensure the client is comfortable with the development. This is done through hand sketches, computer generated drawings and renderings, either 2-D or 3-D video walkthroughs. We work with the architectural base plans to expand on the interior design and begin thinking about the preliminary furniture layouts, finishes and fixtures.

Interior Design

Now the real fun starts! The process of guiding my clients through the product selection process. We gather samples and have finishes made, print cut sheets for fixtures and shop showrooms to view in person, inquire pricing and product availability. Once all selections are made and approved by the client, we create and implement the specifications into documents for collaboration with the architects and trades as well as for our clients as a reference. Examples of items we research and select include:

  • Floor Finishes (Wood, Tile, Carpet, etc)

  • Wall Coverings & Paint

  • Light Fixtures

  • Plumbing Fixtures

  • Appliances

  • Millwork, Custom Cabinetry, Built-In’s and Vanities

  • Kitchen & Bath Design

  • Countertops

  • Tile & Stone

  • Hardware

Interior Décor, Styling & Accessories

Once the architectural finishes and fixtures are selected, it’s then time to begin furnishings the spaces! I always draw in the ideal furniture layouts in each room back in the programming phase before the architect finishes the base plan, to ensure when we get to this phase there are no surprises with furniture not laying out correctly or windows not working in configurations with the desired furniture requirements. Working with my valued trade resources, I pull together the following for my clients along with pricing and availability/lead times:

  • Furniture (Indoor & Outdoor)

  • Fabrics (With special treatments as required for performance & longevity)

  • Area Rugs & Stair Runners

  • Window Treatments

  • Decorative Lighting Fixtures

  • Bedding and Linens

  • Artwork &  Artifact Curation

Project Management & Procurement Services

Whether it’s a small residential project such as an interior refresh in a living and dining room, a full new construction residential build, or a private club, my services are always tailored to my client’s needs and requirements. I offer full project management services if required where I ensure project implementation is on budget, and schedule and everything is being handled ‘behind the scenes’, by working in connection with the trades on site, providing supervision and guidance as required. Construction administration such as review of shop drawings and submittals from the builder are handled in this phase.

What does this mean? It means taking the headache, worry and stress away from the process of creating purchase orders, order placement, payment processing, order follow-up, logistical coordination to my warehouse, tracking, scheduling delivery, assembly, trash removal, and onsite installation. We only use white glove delivery by reputable and experienced high-end furniture consultants, while we are onsite overseeing and directing the entire process, to ensure a seamless move-in for your home, private club or resort!

Project Completion & Close Out

Last, but not least, is the final steps to project completion. There will always be a punch list and a project walk-through to ensure the client is happy with the outcome being construction work, finishes, furnishings, and even the artwork and window treatment installations. A care & maintenance booklet can be furnished upon request, for ensuring maximum longevity of the products just installed for housekeepers & homeowners. This includes any manufacturer warranties, recommended cleaning instructions, and cleaning products. The last finishing touch is to professionally photograph the space. I will arrive with fresh flowers and additional props if needed and we can stage each space for a fabulous coffee table book of your private luxury lifestyle residence or hospitality space!

  • Home Staging for the homeowner – I can help declutter and take photos for your own sale, as well as bring in new pieces or recommend some economical and smart investments to enhance and speed up the selling process

  • Realtor Assistance on selling a home- I can be useful when brought into a home to come up with some ideas for transforming a space and visualizing what it could be!

  • Review of Architectural Plans as it related to the future interiors

  • Make recommendations and create a Master Plan for Private Clubs & Resorts for interior & exterior upgrades including a budget analysis and timeline

  • Collaboration with builders for design direction, product selection & procurement as required through an on-call basis throughout the designing and building process

  • Collaboration with architects on both residential & commercial projects as required
